It hasn’t taken Patrick Giese long to earn several memorable victories for his clients. This attorney, who as of the production of this magazine was only 30, was one of the key attorneys who participated in a trial against Yellow Cab.

Giese had the great privilege of trying that case with Tim Tomasik and Bob Clifford, and the trial team obtained a $25.9 million verdict, the largest in the State of Illinois in 2015.

Giese has also taken other cases to trial. This includes a $7.5 million verdict as co-counsel in a wrongful-death case involving a city worker killed by a truck and a $267,000 verdict in a premises liability case where a jury found that the city defendant’s conduct was willful and wanton.

This young attorney has also been tapped to make presentations to other lawyers, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, where he has spoken on the topic of pre-suit investigation.

“He is unafraid and does his homework to achieve just results for his clients,” said Robert Clifford with Chicago’s Clifford Law Offices. “I have known this young attorney for many years, and have found him to be at the top of his class in professionalism, intelligence and dedication to the profession and to his clients.”

Thomas Prindable, managing partner with Chicago’s Cogan & Power, said he has observed Giese’s career since supervising the attorney when he was a law clerk.

Giese has always given his best effort, whether serving as a law clerk or while taking cases to trial, Prindable said.

“I watched him grow incrementally as a very skilled law clerk and then young attorney,” Prindable said.

His fellow attorneys say that Giese has the ability to quickly determine whether it would be in the best interests of his clients to take a case to trial or to work for a settlement. Thanks in part to this talent, Giese has already earned a reputation as an attorney who gets the best results for his clients, whether these results come at the end of a jury trial or in the form of a carefully crafted settlement.

“Patrick has demonstrated that he is a hardworking and diligent attorney who knows how to prepare a case to achieve maximum results,” said Richard Burke with Clifford Law Offices. “Even while vigorously representing his clients, he does so in a matter that demonstrates an understanding of the character, courtesy and professionalism with which attorneys should practice, whether they are dealing with their client, opposing counsel, court personnel or judges.”

Giese has not been shy about donating time to his community, either. He sits on the Auxiliary Board of Lawyers Lend-A-Hand and is a member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee at the Chicago Bar Association. He is also the co-chair of the CBA’s Tort Litigation Committee.
