Female attorney ranks increase to 38 percent

The number of registered female Illinois attorneys is on the upswing.An American Bar Association report issued last summer showed that 34 percent of lawyers are female.But Illinois surpassed that amount last year.Through Oct. 31, there were 92,756 registered Illinois lawyers. Of that amount, 38 percent are female, according to the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission’s 2014 annual report released on Friday.“The number of female lawyers has slowly but steadily risen over the last 20 years,&rdquo …
