Foreclosure defense firms list concerns in Senate bill

SPRINGFIELD — A state Senate bill to fast-track parts of the mortgage foreclosure process is raising concern among some foreclosure defense lawyers who believe it would unfairly advantage bank lenders.Senate Bill 192, which has not yet been assigned to committee, would make changes to Section 15-1506 of the mortgage foreclosure article of the Code of Civil Procedure.It would allow mortgage lenders to establish a prima facie foreclosure case by presenting the mortgage and outstanding mortgage note at trial, and it …
