Among the slew of bills signed into law this summer by Gov. Patrick J. Quinn were measures aimed at providing new protections for people whose property is fraudulently claimed by others. House Bills 2832 and 2905 establish an expedited review process for fraudulent liens and make it a Class 4 felony to knowingly file one, respectively.
