An insurance company has agreed to pay $1 million to settle a bad-faith lawsuit filed by the plaintiffs of a prior medical-malpractice case. The plaintiff attorney in the underlying case said it’s the first time ISMIE Mutual Insurance Co. has agreed to a bad-faith settlement without a confidentiality stipulation.
