A woman who suffered complications from intestinal surgery will receive $2 million from her surgeon after she entered a high-low agreement just before a Cook County jury on Wednesday returned a $4.8 million verdict.
The woman, who has Crohn’s disease, alleged that her bowel condition was not serious enough to warrant the bowel-resection operation the surgeon performed.
Michelle Walters was referred to Dr. Marc Adajar in November 2010 for a consultation on a stricture in her bowel.
