Two female lawyers selected to fill circuit court openings

Two Chicago lawyers will soon join the bench as Cook County circuit judges. The Illinois Supreme Court announced today that Alison C. Conlon and Rossana P. Fernandez will assume their roles next month. The addition of two women to the bench will raise the total number of female jurists in Illinois to 299 out of a total of 956. Conlon and Fernandez will fill vacancies created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Thomas L. Hogan and the death of judge Richard J. Elrod, respectively. They both applied for the …
