Jury awards $25.9M to lawyer, wife

A Cook County jury has awarded a $25.9 million verdict to a lawyer and his wife after he sustained a severe brain injury in a taxi accident. The jury returned the verdict Tuesday in favor of Marc M. Jacobs and his wife, Deborah Jacobs, who sued Yellow Cab Affiliation Inc. and a cab driver. In response to the verdict, Yellow Cab Affiliation Wednesday filed a petition for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Chicago.
