Judge nixes some disability bias claims against law firm

A legal secretary who suffers from epilepsy and progressive hearing loss waited too long to pursue certain legal claims against Winston & Strawn LLP, a federal judge held today.In a written opinion, U.S. District Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan granted the law firm’s motion to dismiss three counts Dyhan Slaughter brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act.The ruling leaves three other ADA counts in Slaughter’s lawsuit pending.Der-Yeghiayan rejected the argument that extenuating circumstances excused …
