7th Circuit sends asylum case back for new hearing

A Dominican woman detained at the Texas border will get a new chance to seek asylum in the U.S. after an appeals panel found an immigration board cited unreliable information and ignored material evidence when it first rejected her plea.In an unpublished opinion issued Tuesday, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel remanded the case after finding the agency failed to address certain arguments and evidence in Ana Veronica Jimenez Ferreira’s case.Jimenez, 40, left the Dominican Republic in August 2010 to escape …
