Greasy floor slip-and-fall brings $1.4M

A man will walk away with $1.4 million after a Lake County, Ind., jury awarded him $2 million for a shoulder injury he sustained after falling on a greasy substance in a restaurant.The award came Wednesday in plaintiff Richard Liska’s negligence case.He sued Schererville, Ind.’s Don Pedro restaurant in 2012, alleging it failed to keep its floor clear of oily substances or warn invitees of the alleged danger before he slipped and injured his shoulder in April 2012.Liska was 51 at the time and came to the …
