City council signs off on $2.6M in settlements

Chicago aldermen this week approved more than $2.6 million in settlements in two lawsuits involving alleged police misconduct and another involving an overtime pay dispute with Chicago police officers.The settlements approved by the city council on Wednesday included a federal lawsuit filed by the estate of a man who alleged he was framed for a 1995 murder he did not commit but spent 17 years in prison after being convicted of the crime.According to the lawsuit, now-retired detectives Michael Baker and John Solecki framed …
