Flying debris from mower lands $2.18M

A Cook County jury this week awarded $2.18 million to a woman who developed regional pain syndrome in one of her feet after debris struck her while passing a landscaper.The verdict came Monday in 45-year-old plaintiff Roberta Hynes’ negligence suit. She sued J.D.A. Landscaping and landscaper Jose Zavala-Orozco in 2012, alleging Zavala-Orozco failed to keep his lawnmower from shooting a projectile that struck her while she was running in May 2011.Hynes was running past Zavala-Orozco — who was mowing grass at a 7 …
