Judge denies guardianship to grandma

Estelle Schaefer, the baby who has been living with her mom in an Indonesian prison for two years, will not be able to go into her grandmother’s custody once she’s forced to leave the facility Friday.Citing service and jurisdiction concerns, Cook County Circuit Judge Susan Kennedy Sullivan denied an emergency motion and petition for temporary guardianship brought by Kia Walker — the grandmother of Estelle, who was born in March 2015 to parents who are serving time for murder.Walker wants temporary …
