Archdiocese settles cases for $3.15M

The Archdiocese of Chicago will pay a total $3.15 million to settle three separate lawsuits brought by men who alleged they were sexually abused by former priest Daniel McCormack. All three men — identified as John M. Doe, John J. Doe 4 and John T. Doe 24 in court records — sued the archdiocese in 2015, alleging McCormack abused them while participating in an after-school program at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church, where he served as pastor, basketball coach and teacher from 2000 until he was defrocked in 2006.
