SPRINGFIELD — A group of judges is spearheading an effort to make Illinois juries more diverse.Judges from the larger communities outside the Chicago area have begun a program to bolster minority representation on juries, one that involves more extensive planning for and outreach to people in different communities.Currently under state law, lists of potential jurors are accrued in each county based on driver’s licenses, disability cards and other forms of state identification.
