Panel: Judge within rights for sanctions

A judge did not overstep his bounds when he ordered a lawyer to pay $7,427 for pursuing what the judge viewed as “a flood of frivolous arguments and motions” in a civil case, a federal appeals court ruled.The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last week upheld a decision by Chief U.S. District Judge Michael J.
