Professor loses count in lawsuit against UIC

A professor who alleges he is the target of discrimination and harassment because he is Korean does not have a case for the intentional infliction of emotional distress, a federal judge held Wednesday.In a written opinion, U.S. District Judge Sara L. Ellis dismissed the emotional distress claim South Korean-born Seung-Whan Choi included in his lawsuit against the University of Illinois at Chicago.Six other counts in the suit remain pending.But Ellis held the emotional distress count is pre-empted by the Illinois Human …
