Cleared of murder, man wants high court to see his civil case

SPRINGFIELD — Nearly a decade after they threw out his murder conviction, Alan Beaman is asking for help from the state’s top justices once again.This time, the subject of one of the state’s most well-known wrongful-conviction cases wants the Illinois Supreme Court to revive his malicious prosecution claims against the cops who helped send him to prison for 13 years.Beaman’s lawyers this week petitioned the top court to “dispel the doctrinal chaos” surrounding the legal test to prove …
