Latest City Hall settlements include election night arrests

Chicago aldermen on Wednesday voted to settle four lawsuits stemming from allegations of police misconduct for a total of $10.2 million, including $9.5 million for a man who was electrocuted with a Taser after refusing medical attention.The council also voted to pay $395,000 to 17 plaintiffs who claimed they were the victims of police brutality on the night Barack Obama was elected president in 2008.The council’s near-unanimous vote — only one alderman voted against a single settlement — comes one week …
