Opioid manufacturers, doctors sued over drug epidemic

SPRINGFIELD — One of the nation’s largest mass torts firms is taking the opioid crisis to court.Simmons Hanly Conroy LLC has filed actions against several drug companies and doctors across the country, alleging fraudulent marketing of painkillers that have spurred a national drug epidemic.One of its latest claims is on behalf of Kankakee County.
