Springfield lawyer suspended for mishandling funds, lying during ARDC hearing

The Illinois Supreme Court has ordered a Springfield attorney be suspended for allegedly neglecting two clients and lying during her disciplinary proceeding.The court entered an order Oct. 16 suspending Babette Pauline Salus, 57, immediately and until further order of the court after the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission filed a petition on Aug. 31 asking the court to suspend her on an interim basis.The petition follows a 32-page report filed by an ARDC Hearing Board in July in which it found Salus …
