Jury trial on priest abuse can include punitive damages

The Illinois Supreme Court last week paved the way for a molestation victim of former priest Daniel McCormack to pursue punitive damages against the Archdiocese of Chicago.The high court on Jan. 18 rejected the petition for leave to appeal the archdiocese sought after the 1st District Appellate Court’s ruling in John Doe v.
