ARDC urges six-month penalty for practicing without a license

An Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Hearing Board has called for the six-month suspension of a Chicago attorney who accepted clients while not authorized to practice law in Illinois and failed to refund unearned attorney fees.The hearing board panel agreed with the commission administrator’s recommendation based on a one-count complaint against William E. Dicks Jr., a sole practitioner.The complaint, filed in August, alleged Dicks represented two clients, a husband and wife, although he was not …
