Suit accusing author of defamation gets OK

A woman who contends the author of a book about “sexual paranoia” on campus falsely portrayed her as a manipulative and litigious liar got the go-ahead Tuesday to pursue a defamation lawsuit.In a written opinion, U.S. District Judge John Robert Blakey did not rule on the merits of the allegations the woman leveled against professor Laura Kipnis of Northwestern University and HarperCollins Publishers LLC.But Blakey denied a motion by Kipnis and HarperCollins to dismiss the woman's suit.He held the woman …
