ARDC urges suspension for insurance fraud

An Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Hearing Board has called for the six-month suspension of a Chicago attorney for continuing to receive insurance benefits for eight years after he was no longer eligible for coverage.The hearing board found that Barry M. Lewis had engaged in conduct involving dishonesty and fraud, engaged in constructive fraud and committed insurance fraud, according to the 46-page hearing board report filed earlier this month.Lewis, a sole practitioner and criminal defense attorney …
