In a case of first impression, a state appeals panel revived a fired instructor’s retaliatory discharge suit after City Colleges of Chicago fired him for voicing concerns about teacher qualifications.The 1st District Appellate Court’s opinion issued last week found Kenrick Roberts’ lawsuit properly alleged a violation of state public policy.Roberts alleged he was fired from his job as the director of medical programs at Malcolm X College after he continually complained about the hiring of unqualified …
