Securities-fraud class action ends with $9.75M deal

A federal judge has approved a $9.75 million settlement in a class-action case alleging a health-care information technology company engaged in securities fraud.U.S. District Judge Jorge L. Alonso also dismissed the case against Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. and two of its former officers last week.There are about 3,000 claimants who will be paid from the settlement fund.The defendants filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, which was pending when the case settled.“We think it’s an excellent result,” said James E …
