Practicing family law can prove challenging. Emotions run high. The parties involved are often at odds when it comes to everything from alimony payments to child-custody issues to child support to the value of their assets. Fortunately, Joshua Jackson, a partner at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck, has all three of these traits. He also possesses a skilled legal mind and a strong presence in the courtroom. Jackson has earned this praise for his work in the courtroom. One nominator pointed to a case in which Jackson successfully litigated against a highly litigious and well-respected opposing counsel. The opposition sought to decrease the unallocated support, of Jackson’s client. That would have financially impaired the client. Jackson, though, was able to protect his client, and the motion was not approved.

An attorney with a prominent Law firm in Chicago said, “Jackson has an unbelievable drive to help people during some of the most difficult times of their lives. I have seen this firsthand as he has represented close family friends of mine during a very contentious and difficult family matter.”

According to this nominator, Jackson spent inordinate amounts of time explaining the process to his client, and their family members and support system. He also worked closely with them to help them meet their objectives.

“Josh is an excellent attorney who is able to handle complex litigation while maintaining professionalism and integrity,” the nominator said. “I have seen Josh expertly handle depositions, court hearings and settlement negotiations. Josh is able to confidently litigate complex cases to conclusion while also maintaining a positive relationship with the court and opposing counsel, never letting the case become personal.”

Another well-known attorney in Lake County added, “He is truly a professional, and exudes confidence in the court room.”

Despite having built a busy career, Jackson still finds time to be a leader in his community. He is an active member of the Lake County Bar Association, Jefferson Inns of Court and Lake County Justinian Society. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Lake Forest Symphony and is President of the Lake Forest Caucus.
