A federal judge cleared the way for a woman to seek future earnings from her former employer based on the assertion that she was promised she would not be fired if she took a paid leave of absence.
In a written opinion, U.S. District Judge John Z. Lee did not rule on the merits of Dori Dugas-Filippi’s allegation that JPMorgan Chase & Co. wrongfully terminated her employment as an executive assistant because she refused to pay back the wages she received while on leave.
