The attorney defending a Wisconsin law regulating doctors who perform abortions was having a tough time of it. Judge Richard A. Posner of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals seemed skeptical of the claim that the statute was based on concern for public health and not on opposition to abortion rights.
