A state appeals panel has affirmed the dismissal of a defamation suit by a 23rd Ward aldermanic candidate against a blogger who wrote an article questioning her qualifications during the 2011 election. In a 25-page opinion written by 1st District Appellate Justice James R. Epstein, the panel ruled the blogger exercised protected political rights by sharing publicly accessible information about Anna Goral’s property taxes.
