The Illinois Supreme Court disbarred nine attorneys and suspended another 13 in orders entered last week.

Among the seven attorneys who consented to their disbarment is Brian D. Hunter, a former Hancock County assistant state’s attorney who deleted files, trial materials and other information stored in the office once he learned he was not appointed to succeed former Hancock County state’s attorney James M. Drozdz, who died in a 2013 truck crash on a Georgia highway.

Hunter pleaded guilty to computer tampering as a result of his actions (M.R. 28050).

The high court also disbarred Anthony Bergamino Jr. on consent following his suspension on an interim basis in June 2014. Bergamino was found guilty of criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse after he entered a woman’s hotel room without permission, pushed her on the bed and held her down while he assaulted her (M.R. 28086).
