Bullied student wins $250,000 in damages

A student who was beaten and bullied within full view of the school district’s bus driver was awarded $250,000 by a Woodford County jury Tuesday, one of the largest verdicts for bullying in the state, according to the Chicago firm who represented the plaintiff.The jury found that bus driver James Roberts acted with intentional disregard and indifference to the safety of plaintiff Zachary Liggett, now 18, who was constantly harassed and attacked by two students on his bus from November 2012 to May 2013.Liggett’s …
