ARDC Review Board lowers penalty for suburban attorney

A divided Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Review Board recommended a shorter suspension than what the hearing board requested for an Oak Park attorney charged with engaging in the unauthorized practice of law.Marlin E. Kirby, owner of the Law Office of Marlin E. Kirby, was named in a two-count complaint for representing a client while he was suspended and not authorized to practice, and failing to disclose his suspension as required by a Supreme Court rule.The charge stems from his conduct in June 2014 …
