Citing a high-profile high court decision on biometric privacy, a panel has ruled against a tanning salon for collecting patrons’ fingerprints without permission.The 1st District Appellate Court this week ruled a plaintiff can recover liquidated damages against Palm Beach Tan Inc. under the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act.The woman who filed suit, Jennifer Rottner, claimed the company made customers provide their prints each time they wanted to use its services.
