Man awarded $2.3 million verdict in CTA case — April 18, 1989An Elmwood Park man who lost his right arm after falling in front of a Chicago Transit Authority train in 1981 was awarded a $2.3 million verdict by a Cook County Circuit Court jury.The jury returned a $7.8 million verdict in favor of the plaintiff, Joseph Skelton, now 28, but reduced that amount to $2.3 million after finding Skelton was 70% at-fault for the incident.Skelton and his girlfriend were waiting for a train at the CTA’s Oak Park-Congress …

6th Circuit mulls over mileage reimbursement for delivery drivers
