1st Circuit revives claim over gun trafficking

Reversing a judgment that tossed a complaint the Estados Unidos Mexicanos filed in Massachusetts against seven U.S. gun manufacturers and one gun distributor for allegedly aiding and abetting illegal trafficking of firearms to Mexican drug cartels, the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals concluded that Mexico’s common law claim qualifies for an exception to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.
