Black, Latino truck drivers get $3.77M award

A federal jury returned a verdict of $3,775,000 against a freight company accused of discriminating against African-American and Latino truck drivers.The jury returned the verdict last week in favor of seven drivers who maintain they experienced emotional distress as a result of discrimination and harassment at YRC Worldwide Inc.’s Bolingrook terminal.The awards for the individual drivers ranged from $375,000 to $900,000.“The jury was extremely kind and they actually gave us more than we asked for,” said …
