Statehouse looks to build on 2018 harassment bills

SPRINGFIELD — After successfully passing a dozen measures to protect Capitol employees from harassment during the 2018 legislative session, lawmakers are looking to expand into the private sector.The Senate Sexual Discrimination and Harassment Awareness and Prevention Task Force has proposed six bills they say will keep state employees safe from unwanted advances.However, some groups say the measures — which include installing panic buttons in every hotel in Illinois and requiring written consent for every form …
