$45M award to children after mother killed in crash

A Lake County judge awarded $45 million to three children whose mother was killed in a 2012 crash by an impaired driver.The judgment was entered March 18 after a one-day bench trial on damages before Circuit Judge Jorge L. Ortiz.Defendant Mark Oelerich was not present for the trial, nor did he have an attorney representing him.
