Bill would let attorney general sue over wage, labor violations

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Senate unanimously approved a measure Thursday to grant the attorney general authority to bring legal actions over violations of worker protection laws.Senate Bill 161 would create a dedicated unit within the attorney general’s office to attempt to prevent and remedy wage payment violations and unfair labor practices.“The bill benefits workers and law-abiding businesses alike by curbing unfair labor practices and ensuring that law enforcement and state agencies will work …
