A state appeals panel upheld the $8.7 million judgment leveled against a network of corporate entities that swindled money from state agencies.The 1st District Appellate Court found that the Illinois Attorney General’s Office presented considerable evidence showing why George Smith, as the president and CEO of DBCC Organization and its sister companies, should be held liable for misusing $8,744.174.39 in public funds.In reaching its decision last Thursday, the appellate court upheld the summary judgment the state …
