Ruling puts Aurora Pride Parade back on track

A federal judge cleared the way for the LGBTQ+ rights group Aurora Pride to seek a permit to host its annual Pride Parade on June 11.U.S. District Judge Martha M. Pacold of the Northern District of Illinois issued a preliminary injunction barring the city of Aurora from enforcing certain provisions of its Special Events Ordinance that organizers maintain allowed individual police officers to nearly derail the 2022 parade.In a written opinion accompanying the injunction, Pacold did not rule on the merits of Aurora Pride’s …
