Asbestos conspiracy claim gets review by high court

SPRINGFIELD — The state’s top court heard oral arguments on whether a man who suffers from lung cancer from exposure to asbestos while employed as a construction worker should get another chance to prove civil conspiracy. The case comes after John Jones alleged brake lining company Pneumo Abex and glass bottle maker Owens-Illinois entered a civil conspiracy with insulation and roofing materials manufacturer Johns-Manville to suppress information about the harmful health effects of asbestos.The …
