McDonald’s didn’t get the memo

A judge on Friday issued a temporary restraining order against Cook County’s new soda tax before it was supposed to take effect on July 1. However, 22 Chicago-area McDonald’s charged the penny-per-ounce tax over the weekend and are now offering refunds for customers who bring in receipts, according to the Chicago Tribune.
