Breen named as House GOP floor leader

Republicans in the Illinois House announced late last week their new floor leader will be Rep. Peter C. Breen, an attorney specializing in constitutional law for the conservative Thomas More Society. His assent after only two-plus years in the House is notable, considering he beat a party-backed incumbent in his election bid back in 2014.
