SCOTUS passes on Campanelli case

The nation’s top court has turned away an appeal by Cook County’s public defender. The U.S. Supreme Court this week denied a plea in Amy P. Campanelli v. Illinois, in which Campanelli’s lawyers argued it was a Sixth Amendment violation to force her office to represent multiple clients who arguably have adverse interests.
