Woman pleads guilty to stealing $720K from employer

A Southern Illinois woman pleaded guilty on Friday to embezzling more than $720,000 over the course of four years from her employer, New Horizons OBGYN, an obstetrics and gynecological practice group in Carbondale. Ann E. Darling-Batson of Herrin, Ill., also admitted to illegally obtaining a prescription for acetaminophen/codeine #3, a Schedule III controlled substance.
