A federal jury awarded $3.2 million in damages this week to a Chicago-based company that sued a competitor for infringing on its copyright of patented children’s play products.Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. sued Chicco USA Inc. alleging that Chicco willfully infringed on the copyright of its play gym and play yard. Chicco is a division of Artsana USA Inc., which owns several companies that manufacture children’s products.Following a trial in U.S. District Court in Chicago, the jury ruled in favor of Kolcraft.The …
